Life is as simple as it looks. It has no impossible complications. Everything is possible in this world if you work towards it and I believe in it. Lot of people may deny this. But it is just the way you look at things. We often take our daily tasks as burdens. Burdens which we have to grudgingly tackle, expectations we have to meet and the buzz about being perfect. Why do we aspire to be perfect? There isn’t a rulebook that says, “If you are not perfect, you haven’t lived life to the fullest.” After 18 years of life, I have learnt that it is NOT important to be perfect, but important to take things as they come and respond to them in your own unique way. Many people find solace in believing that happiness is the only thing which we must strive for. But how will we relish, taste, smell and feel the essence of happiness if we don’t go through the rough patch, the ruthless storm and the turn-twisting circumstances and situations that life puts in front of us.
I like to think of life as a big attractive and lively bowl with a narrow opening, filled with different kinds of chocolates, flavours of ice creams etc. Life opens the lid of the bowl but your hand reaches only selected things. Sometimes u may reach few things that may turn on your taste buds, few things that may be unfamiliar, and also few things that may not be that tempting. But you got to taste whatever life gives you and admire the lesson you learnt while tasting the experience. Life isn’t rude always. When your hand reaches your favourite, it gives you all the happiness you had always wanted. So there is no point in cribbing and cursing. It is all about living it up; tasting each flavour with utmost fervour, doing things you are passionate about and capture time in your hands.
There may be so many things you’d wish you had done when you were a kid. After being at home for 16 years, I have finally got out of my cocoon and turned into an independent person. I do, of course miss home but it gives you immense pleasure in feeling the freedom and makes you understand the responsibility of being the person you are.
People say that you value life when you go through a near death experience. I say why wait for death to knock on your door just to make you realize what you are already rewarded with- a wonderful fulfilling life! From the age of 11 years, I’ve been reading Readers Digest and I love the column “laughter-the best medicine”. In true sense laughter is a mini vacation that we can take anywhere, anytime and without a reason. My father says, whenever you are sad (or not sad, that doesn’t matter), just look at the mirror and make funny faces.
Believe me, it works. You don’t even need to go to the circus or read a joke, just be a clown yourself and laugh it out. What a stress-buster!
I don’t like to restrict myself when I feel like doing something. If I need a break during work, I go roam around for a while, or catch a word with my old friend. If we forget about the whole point that we were born to enjoy the beauty and effervescence of life, ours will be a life of labour and not a life lived according to our choices and wants. We’ve heard “Live laugh Love” and “Eat pray Love”.. I want to say that I will Eat Pray Love Laugh Live Dance Sing Work and Enjoy because there are no rules baby!
